The Temporary Administrative Support Associate provides administrative and operational support to the Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning to ensure the efficient functioning of the office. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to follow through on tasks and assignments with accuracy and timeliness. The position serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, manages communications and scheduling, coordinates meetings and events, and supports financial processes including budget tracking and reconciliation. The position involves working in an open, active and collaborative work environment where students drop by, visit and hold club meetings in a shared space. The position is 30 hours per week for an anticipated period of approximately 6 months.


Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position


  • Administrative Practices: Skills in office management, coordinating meetings and events, tracking workflows and deadlines, and proactively anticipating needs. Support financial operations by planning and analyzing the use of funds; tracking commitments and expenditures; and reconciling budget spreadsheets with Banner to ensure accuracy and compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and willingness to learn university systems including Banner, Emburse, and 25Live.

  • Organizational & Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver high-quality work on time.

  • Interpersonal & Communication Skills: Engage effectively with students, faculty, and community partners. Professional written and verbal communication skills. Serves as a welcoming and responsive point of contact by managing phone calls, departmental email accounts, and visitors. Ability to maintain confidential records and exercise sound professional judgment.

  • Adaptability & Problem-Solving: Resourcefulness in addressing challenges related to CCESL operations. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes.


Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency.


Preferred Qualifications
Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree. Experience working in education or higher education office environment. Experience coordinating events and managing budgets. Familiarity with university systems including Banner, Emburse, and 25Live.
