Job Description

The Maintenance Leadman supports and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and strives to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in all areas of responsibility. Plans procedures for the layout, construction, installation and maintenance of all production and office machines/equipment. The scheduled hours for this position are 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM Friday - Sunday.

Job Responsibilities



  • Inspect, maintain and repair industrial equipment and machinery to ensure equipment is always in proper working order
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions and make repairs as needed.
  • Preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment, adjusting parts and lubricating moving components as needed to ensure proper, efficient function.
  • Examine moving parts on equipment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis for signs of excessive wear, defects and damage.
  • Record all maintenance and repair services performed to monitor repeated break-downs and unplanned down time to determine cause and suggest improvements
  • Request and place orders to replenish materials and parts when inventory grows low or is depleted.
  • Study manufacturer manuals and blueprints and carefully follow directions when operating or setting up newly-acquired machinery.
  • Cut and weld metal pieces together as needed to fabricate new parts, assemble equipment or repair broken parts as needed.
  • Participates in special division projects/upgrades as needed
  • Meet with the Plant Management Team on a regular bases on maintenance issues and concerns to discuss and to plan any necessary downtime to complete any repairs
  • Follow all OHSA safety guidelines on Lock Out / Tag Out, machinery guarding, hazardous communication, electrical safety and any permit requirements
  • Recommends equipment purchases to management as necessary


Qualifications:




    • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
      *High School diploma or equivalent.
      *Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot electrical systems (including, but not limited to PLCs, solid state motor drives, overhead cranes and hydraulic circuits).
      *Working knowledge of Cut to Length process and Trumpf Laser Cutting Equipment.
      *Familiarity of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulics concepts.
      *Ability to read manufacturing equipment drawings and electrical and plumbing schematics.
      *Previous experience with hand tools, welding tools, and precision instruments.
      *Previous experience supervising employees.
      *General knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
      *Detail oriented with ability to inspect material for quality conformance through the use of measuring devices and drawings.
      *Flexibility of work schedule.
