The world of energy is changing faster than ever! Our Gridtern Program provides current college students the ability to gain practical experience within the energy industry. Your summer will begin on Monday, June 15, 2026, and will be filled with meaningful work experiences, professional development, networking opportunities, community involvement, and most importantly, have fun! What You'll Do
Our Operations Customer Project Management team ensures the timely delivery of complex electric customer projects by applying robust end-to-end project management, and by effectively managing expectations, communications, and relationships between customers and internal teams. The team supports National Grid's mission by increasing customer satisfaction and reducing project completion cycle times. As a Gridtern, you will assist in planning and coordinating project activities, tracking milestones, and supporting communications with customers and internal stakeholders. You will also contribute to process improvements aimed at shortening delivery times and enhancing overall project efficiency. This internship offers hands-on exposure to the end-to-end management of electric customer projects. During the summer, you will participate in weekly 1:1s with your manager, join the Weekly Team Hub calls, and attend customer and project site meetings. You will analyze data and existing processes to identify opportunities for improvement, undertake a mix of self-driven project assignments and assistance to Project Managers with day-to-day tasks, help manage electric customer-driven project work, and investigate process-improvement requests, developing tools and dashboards to enhance project management and impact tracking. This role also provides opportunities to network with other departments within National Grid. While the preferred locations for this role are North Andover, MA and Malden, MA, the position is also available in Leeds, MA. You must also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office. What You'll Need
