DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position the Clerical Assistant 2 will respond to telephone inquiries from the public, funeral directors, physicians, hospital records staff, coroners and other parties requesting information on accessing services related to issuance of vital records certified copies or vital events data. Respond to inbound calls, triage calls, identify and define problem, find resolution alternatives sufficient to meet caller needs effectively. Evaluates needs, determining the best methods to meet those needs and advising and educating callers. You will provide accurate, comprehensive and unbiased information to all customers and conducts follow-up on caller inquiries not immediately resolved; assesses and meets the immediate, short-term need of callers who are experiencing a crisis. At times, may be required to record calls/information into a software application for tracking and analysis.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Limited term, full time employment, 37.5 hours per week,
- Work hours are 10:30am to 6:30pm with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in New Castle. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes). -

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
