THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking a dynamic Deer Management Assistance Program (DMAP) Manager to lead and modernize a high-impact statewide program. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will oversee the statewide DMAP, managing daily operations including landowner approvals, tag allocations, and serving as the primary point of contact for enrolled participants. You will have the opportunity to lead efforts to streamline and modernize program processes, support consolidation initiatives, and collaborate with internal bureaus to develop policies, quotas, databases, and educational resources. Work involves engaging directly with landowners and stakeholders to drive enrollment, ensure compliance, enhance program effectiveness, and use data-driven analysis to guide program growth and improvements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of professional experience in development and implementation of conservation education programs; and a bachelor's degree with course work in education, wildlife management, communications, or a closely related field; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid driver's license.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
