Located at the foothills of majestic Pikes Peak, the Colorado Springs Technology Center serves the role of providing leading-edge technology access for new product development as well as precision manufacturing for our internal Keysight partners.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team. This role will involve optimizing production workflows, sustaining a robust manufacturing process, and providing quality support. The ideal candidate will take a handson approach in process creation and characterization, qualification of varying process materials, equipment and is eager to contribute to both production support and new technology development.


Responsibilities

Quality Systems & Documentation

  • Own and maintain quality documentation in collaboration with other sites
  • Support transfer sign-off activities and ensure inspection requirements are clearly defined and compliant
  • Review and support Metrology Equipment Documentation Review Requests
  • Act as a contact for quality and metrology-related initiatives
  • Act as a supplier quality engineer 25% of the time

Inspection Strategy & Optimization

  • Evaluate where inspections occur and recommend layout or flow changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Assess skip lot procedures and define when and how reductions can be safely implemented while maintaining compliance
  • Evaluate AQL strategies and determine feasibility of reduced sample sizes (e.g., 30 pcs)
  • Support lightsout manufacturing initiatives

Metrology & CMM Operations

  • Program and support CMM and vision systems (CMM, Nexiv, Prismo)
  • Partner with Metrology to understand machine capabilities and bestfit applications
  • Develop and manage balanced CMM scheduling to ensure even utilization throughout the day

Data Analysis, NCRs & Scrap Reduction

  • Pull, analyze, and trend NCR data to identify high scrap drivers
  • Lead followup activities on NCRs, ensuring timely closure and systemic fixes
  • Drive root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Identify recurring issues and lead process improvements to eliminate defects

Audits & Continuous Improvement

  • Support internal, customer, and external audits
  • Participate in audits of manufacturing, inspection, and metrology processes
  • Lead or support quality improvement processes
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with AS9100 requirements

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 year of handson experience in Manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in process development and characterization.
  • Ability to program precision assembly equipment.
  • Experience in setting up and running DOE, Failure analysis, and performing data analysis.
  • Strong problemsolving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Qualified to work in an ITAR facility
  • Familiarity with quality engineering
  • Familiarity with CAD Design and Layout (Preference).

Colorado pay range: MIN $74,670.00, MIDPOINT $99,550.00 - MAX $124,440.00
