Responsibilities

Thin Film Process Engineers develop and sustain micro-fabrication technologies for Keysight's portfolio of passive RF devices including transmission lines, filters, resistors, capacitors, inductors, and resistive networks.

Thin Film Process Engineers typically begin by specializing in a core process area such as lithography, electroplating, dry etch, wet etch, deposition, electrical test, laser ablation, or saw separation. While working on hands-on projects in your core process area, you will learn how thin film products are built and how different fabrication processes are integrated. As your expertise grows, you will collaborate more broadly with designers, planners, and external suppliers to support Keysight's entire thin film supply chain.

Responsibilities:

You will join a dynamic team that develops, fabricates and tests advanced thin film circuits. Your responsibilities include:

  • Owning one or more of the following process areas: lithography, electroplating, dry etch, wet etch
  • Monitoring manufacturing processes and implementing solutions to address process failures
  • Investigating product non-conformances and conducting root cause analyses
  • Providing the operations team with clear work instructions and technical support to manufacture products on time and on budget
  • Guiding new thin film designs from conception through prototyping and into production
  • Developing new processes to improve yield, enhance capability, or streamline workflow
  • Identifying and qualifying capital equipment to support business continuity or new manufacturing capabilities

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent technical discipline
  • 2-4+ years of applicable experience in thin film or related micro-fabrication processes)
  • Deep knowledge developing and sustaining thin film or related micro-fabrication processes
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze data from disparate sources to draw practical, data-driven conclusions
  • Sound decision-making skills to balance tradeoffs among competing stakeholder requirements
  • Creative problem-solving skills to maximize available resources
  • Intrinsic motivation to meet aggressive product development schedules and manufacturing targets

  • Proven experience working with cross functional teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal and external customers and vendors (engineers, manufacturing and maintenance technicians, planners, etc)

Desired:

  • Industry experience developing and sustaining thin film or related micro-fabrication processes (such as: the following process areas: lithography, electroplating, dry etch, wet etch)
  • Familiar with metrology and measurement techniques to characterize thin films

Candidates must be local or willing to relocate to Santa Rosa, CA

California Pay Range: MIN $93,050 - MIDPT $124,060 - MAX $155,080

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region.
