TheConstruction Engineering Services Practice is seeking a Construction Inspector/Engineer-in-Training in Spokane, WA.

In thisposition,you will provideon-site constructioninspectionsand applicable documentation for transportation projects. This includes observation of construction work activities for compliance with plans and specifications, preparation of required contract documentation, and following prescribed Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures consistent with State and Local guidelines. Additionally,you willassistwithproject design teamsincluding project set-up, drafting, design, quality review and quality assurance, project coordination/organization, etc.for a wide range of transportation projects.

• Coordinate, perform, and/or supervise technical engineering work in
  thefield.
• Inspect,observe,andensure thata construction project is constructedin
  accordance withcontract plans and specifications.
• Maintainaccuratedaily recordsof the work (labor, equipment,
  materials, quantities).
• Identifycontract changes andassistin preparation of change orders.
• Communicate effectively with the Contractors, Owners, Construction Manager, Project Documentation Engineer, or other field engineering staff.
• Prepare field noterecords forprogress payments.
• Coordinate for required materials sampling and testing.
• Prepares and/ormodifiesconstruction documents, reports, specifications, cost estimates, and designs for projects.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to work effectively with client representatives, contractors, the public, as well as peers and subordinates.
• Excellent skills in working independentlyin the field.
• The successful candidate must be able to effectively multitask and prioritize and track construction issuesthroughcompletion.
• Clean driving record.

• 5 years of construction inspection experience working on large roadways,bridges,and highway projects.
• General contracting experience.
• WSDOTproject experience(ITD andODOT arealsoconsidered).
• WSDOTInspector Certifications(ITD andODOTare alsoconsidered).
• Experience inspecting Federally funded projects.
• Drafting and design experience with BentleyOpen Roadsand/or Civil 3D for the design of alignments and 3D design surfaces.
• Engineer-in-Training Certification
