Cleveland-Cliffs, United Taconite LLC has an immediate need for a Human Resources Representative based out of its Forbes, MN location with travel to other Cliffs' MN mining sites for support and coverage. The HR/LR Representative will provide services and support in areas such as talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee relations, data analytics, workplace investigations, BLA (Basic Labor Agreement) interpretation and application, and HR/LR compliance training.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Participate in full cycle recruitment process of exempt and non-exempt positions including testing, interviewing, background checks, and selection.

  • Maintain all employee data within Workday, Ellipse, Hewitt, Fidelity, Towers Watson, Kronos and other data collection systems.

  • Manage and support Employee Leave Administration.

  • Maintain employee personnel files and confidential medical files ensuring compliance with records retention policy.

  • Administer employee benefit plans (pension, medical, dental, vision, life, long-term care, home and auto insurance, short and long term disability, 401k with respect to employee questions as they arise.

  • Participate and assist in driving employee engagement efforts.

  • Provide support and guidance to managers of bargaining unit employees in interpretation of the BLA.

  • Track and maintain Grievance Reports.

  • Draft and issue for the Company the grievance step disposition responses to the Union.

  • Attend investigatory meetings when appropriate.

  • Prepare regular reports such as Steelworkers Pension Trust monthly calculations based on work hours, hourly profit sharing quarterly reports to determine payment of profit sharing, headcount reports, unemployment tracking, Earn Safe and Sick Time (ESST) requests and tracking, etc.

  • Develop and coordinate education and training for management and hourly pertaining to new employee orientation onboarding, statutory benefits, employment law or other human resources issues as directed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field

  • Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment

  • Team player with ability to effectively deal with a wide variety of people

  • Strong computer proficiency including MS Office Suite

  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills

  • Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification

  • ATS and/or HRIS experience

The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $90,000.An employee's pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
