Position Overview

Position Summary
The College of Business Administrative Assistant provides comprehensive clerical and operational support for two academic departments. This position performs a variety of routine and moderately complex administrative tasks, including document preparation, data entry, report compilation, correspondence, scheduling meetings and events, and coordinating the flow of departmental documentation. The role serves as a liaison between departments, supporting operational processes while ensuring compliance with established procedures and regulations.


Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine secretarial duties such as creating documents, filing, verifying information, coordinating the flow of documents, and scheduling events and meetings for two academic departments
  • Operate a personal computer to enter data, compile and type reports, and prepare letters and general correspondence
  • Perform a range of operational support activities for the Department and serve as a liaison with other departments on basic administrative and/or operational matters
  • Perform a range of operational support activities (FLAC worksheet, Amend Forms, etc.)
  • Serve as a liaison with other departments on basic administrative and/or operational matters
  • Greet and direct visitors, and accept, screen, and route telephone calls
  • Sort, screen, and distribute mail
  • Regular and predictable attendance required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

High school diploma or GED certificate and a minimum of six months of experience directly related to the duties specified.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform routine and moderately complex clerical tasks rapidly and accurately
  • Skill in the use of standard office equipment to meet administrative needs
  • Ability to effectively use word processing, database, spreadsheets, and email software
  • Ability to understand and convey procedures and regulations established
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

Working Conditions

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed during normal work hours but may require some evening or weekend hours
  • Work is sedentary in nature that at times requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
