Summary
TheTechnical Training Instructor IIworks with operations, maintenance and support personnel to design, develop and deliver training at the appropriate level for maintenance and operations apprentices completing their initial qualifications at the NYPA generation and transmission facilities. The primary focus of the position is training apprentice operators on plant operational and equipment concepts to complement their on-the-job training. The position also works with each site to provide ongoing advanced level training for journeyperson and senior level operations and maintenance staff; and provides support for cross training other crafts and departments (i.e. engineering, safety, and project management), based on need and availability. This position provides the Authority with a well-trained staff that consistently implements and follows NYPA processes, procedures, and protocols during normal and casualty operations.
