Job Description




As a Security Guard - Overnight Patrol Driver in Oakdale, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer in an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents. This is a driving post requiring a valid driver's license. You will support access control, communicate clearly with staff and visitors, and deliver a helpful presence aligned with Allied Universal values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to students, staff, and visitors by following site-specific, security-related procedures, policies, and post orders, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate updates to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, classrooms, offices, common areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or policy violations.
  • Monitor access points and visitor flow during arrival, dismissal, and special events, and assist with checking identification, issuing visitor credentials, and directing foot traffic per site policy.
  • Complete routine reports and logs, document incidents and observations, and report maintenance concerns such as damaged doors, lighting, and/or alarms through the appropriate channels.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 or more years of security-related experience is required.
  • Be 21 or more years of age.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
