Job Description




As a Security Officer - Foot Patrol in Hermitage, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, remain highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and respond to calls for assistance. You will communicate clearly with site staff and visitors, document observations, and support smooth operations with a customer-focused approach. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel, drivers, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of warehouse, dock, yard, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify hazards or operational concerns; working conditions may vary by location.
  • Monitor access points and vehicle movement, verify identification and/or shipping paperwork as required by post orders, and help maintain orderly entry and exit flow.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical events, disturbances, and/or alarm activations, and notify the appropriate contacts.
  • Complete detailed shift activity reports and incident documentation, communicate observations to supervision and/or site management, and assist with basic security-related inspections such as door, gate, and lighting checks.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Having a guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
