Salary Statement
Estimated Starting Salary Range: USD $111,100.00/Yr. - USD $185,100.00/Yr. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
Description
Serving as the advancedlevel computer network architect for a highvisibility DoD communications program, reporting to the program's technical lead
- Designing, modeling, and implementing complex LAN, WAN, intranet, extranet, and cloudbased network solutions that support missioncritical systems
- Performing detailed networkcapacity and performance analyses, developing longterm networkarchitecture roadmaps, and integrating security controls into every layer of the design
- Researching emerging networking technologies, recommending hardware and software platforms, and ensuring all designs comply with DoD cyberpolicy (RMF, NIST80053, CNSSI1253, etc.)
- Cooperating with government program officials, vendors, and crossfunctional engineering teams, delivering secure, resilient, and scalable network infrastructure

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, network engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related technical discipline from an ABETaccredited or CAEdesignated institution
- Alternative qualification: Completion of any of the listed DoD/Military training modules (e.g.,4CFA26A,M09CHN1,A5310009,A5310045,or the combinationACQ160+ISA220) may be used in place of the degree
- Active DoD TopSecret (or higher) clearance at the time of appointment
- At least one DoDapproved baseline certification, such as:
- CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert)
- GICSP (GIAC Information Security Certification - Practitioner)
- GCIA (GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst)
- CISSP, CISM, CISA, or any equivalent credential recognized by the DoD Cyber Workforce Framework
- Minimum seven productive years of fulltime experience performing the duties of a computer network architect (Advanced) or equivalent onthejob training that satisfies the DoD CSWF Advanced criteria experience must include:
- Designing, modeling, and implementing largescale DoD or federal network infrastructures (LAN/WAN, SDWAN, cloudconnected networks)
- Conducting network capacity, performance, and security analyses
- Integrating security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN, segmentation) into network designs
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Create endtoend network architectures that meet mission requirements and DoD policy
- Perform network modeling, traffic analysis, and capacity planning
- Evaluate, select, and recommend hardware/software platforms
- Incorporate cyberrisk mitigation measures into network designs
- Communicate technical concepts and design rationale to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
Desired Skills
- Indepth knowledge of DoD networking and cyberpolicy frameworks (RMF, NIST80053, CNSSI1253)
- Handson experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or equivalent enterprise routing/switching platforms; familiarity with SDWAN, MPLS, and VPN technologies
- Proficiency in networkmodeling and simulation tools (e.g.,Cisco Packet Tracer, GNS3, NetSim, OPNET, Riverbed)
- Experience designing secure network segments, microsegmentation, and zerotrust architectures
- Strong understanding of IPv4/IPv6, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), QoS, multicast, and networkautomation frameworks (Ansible, Python, NetConf/YANG)
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, Google Cloud) and hybrid connectivity solutions
- Ability to produce architecture documentation, network diagrams, and RMF artifacts (SSP, POA&M) that meet DoD standards
- Proven record of evaluating emerging technologies (SDWAN, 5G, NFV, SASE) and recommending adoption paths
- Excellent stakeholdermanagement and presentation skills; capable of leading technical reviews and briefings for senior government officials
- Experience mentoring junior network engineers and promoting best practices in network security and reliability
- Preferred additional certifications: CCIE, GSEC, CISSPISSAP, or DoDspecific 8570.01M IA/IAC/IAE credentials
- Ability to obtain and maintain higherlevel clearance (TopSecret/SCI) if future mission phases require it
Clearance Information
SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AS WELL AS, A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE TOP SECRET LEVEL LEVEL WITH TOP SECRET / SCI LEVEL ELIGIBILITY
Travel Requirements
- Domestic travel: Up to10% of the year (approximately two weeks) for site visits, security assessments, or briefings at other DoD locations
- International travel: Infrequent, typically less than5% of the year, only when needed for coordination with overseas partners and subject to clearance approval
