Job Description




As a Security Officer - Roving Patrol in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a renowned cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol galleries, public spaces, and exterior areas, conduct routine rounds, and remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will greet guests and staff, provide clear communication and directions, and document observations while partnering with your team. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, and vendors by following site-specific procedures, access control requirements, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to site leadership and/or emergency services as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout galleries, public spaces, offices, and perimeter areas to help to deter suspicious activity and support a welcoming environment.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems and report unusual conditions, policy violations, and/or maintenance issues according to post orders.
  • Complete shift logs, incident reports, and pass-down communications, and assist with crowd flow and special events as directed by site policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21+ years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
