ChristianaCare, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare, is recruiting for a Corporate Director, Medical Group.

We are seeking a forward-thinking, strategic, and intuitive leader with experience managing multiple service lines across ambulatory sites. The ideal candidate will bring strong financial acumen, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of leading complex, large-scale initiatives. Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and physician leadership is essential, along with demonstrated success executing business plans, driving service line expansion, and supporting sustainable growth.

This executive leader will oversee our Behavioral Health, Cancer & Oncology, and Heart & Vascular Service Lines, with responsibility for approximately 500+ FTEs across multiple sites in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that support organizational goals in quality, access, and growth.

  • Partners with executive leadership to lead alignment of ambulatory services with broader system initiatives and service line development.

  • Develops and executes strategic business plans that advance Medical Group, Service Line and System growth.

  • Establishes and maintains excellent relations with all system leaders and partners.

Operational Oversight:

  • Provides direct leadership and guidance to regional or site-level practice administrators.

  • Effectively manages and holds accountability of the operational leadership team to ensure practice operations are delivering expected results for staffing, workflow optimization, resource allocation, scheduling, and patient experience, provider experience, and caregiver experience.

  • Leads and participates in the selection, integration and evaluation of health care technology and information systems to support the efficient operation of the Medical Group.

  • Leads Medical Group and System Annual Operating Plan goals while achieving goals set.

Financial Management:

  • Develops and manages operating and capital budgets with practice administrators and finance partners.

  • Holds Practice Administrators accountable for managing to margin and implementing corrective action plans to achieve annual budget.

  • Ensures Practice Administrators are collaborating with finance, revenue cycle, and contracting teams to improve billing processes and maximize revenue.

  • Drives cost-efficiency while maintaining high standards of quality, outcomes and experience for our patients, providers and caregivers.

  • Responsible to independently lead business planning processes for Medical Group growth and change strategy coordinating and managing designated mergers /acquisitions into the Medical Group.

Provider & Staff Engagement:

  • Responsible for building a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance among practice operation team, providers and caregivers.

  • Develop and grow leadership capabilities among practice administrators, site managers and other staff.

  • Partner with the Medical Group provider compensation team, in the design, implementation and management of physician compensation and incentive programs.

Data & Performance Analytics:

  • Utilize data-driven decision-making tools to monitor KPIs and benchmark performance.

  • Collaborate with informatics and analytics teams to ensure access to timely and actionable reports.

  • Ensure Practice Administrators have action plans that result in improved KPI performance of their areas of responsibility.

  • Lead initiatives that result in improving operational, clinical quality, patient safety, and service excellence metrics.

  • Accountable for establishing and maintaining highly effective relationships and partnerships within the Medical Group, with our Medical Group Partners and across the health system.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Position Qualifications

  • Master's degree is required and preferred in fields such as nursing, medical technology, business, clinical healthcare, or healthcare management.

  • Minimum of 5 years of medical practice/departmental operations leadership experience required.

  • Minimum of 3 years' healthcare experience managing people leaders required.

  • Experience involving large group medical practice management and demonstrated leadership success would be especially advantageous.

Annual Compensation Range $135,720.00 - $217,172.80 This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
