Maintenance Tech II - Temporary

Bio-Rad is looking for a Maintenance Technician II to support the manufacturing plant that produces process chromatography resins, liquid buffers, monomer solutions, oils, and other specialized life science products. The individual will be part of the Manufacturing Science and Technology group that consists of a multidisciplinary team of Scientists and Engineers working on developing innovative technologies and continuous improvement projects for the chemical manufacturing site. The individual will collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to determine Bio-Rad's infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Bio-Rad's infrastructure (Process equipment, instrumentation, and automation) fit together perfectly and keep our equipment and manufacturing process moving along smoothly for a seamless user(internal/external) experience. Equipment includes glass-lined reactors with heating systems, semi-automated fill lines, air classifiers, wet sizing units, inline mixing systems, and semi-automated dispense systems among various others. Instrumentation includes control valves, temp, pressure, speed transmitters. Automation systems include - Allen Bradley RS Logix, Control/Compact Logix, Automation direct HMI, and PLCs.

How You'll Make An Impact:



  • May provide basic training to lower level department personnel on processes and tasks.
  • Provides support to engineering as required.
  • Documents work in CMMS.
  • Makes suggestions for improvements in equipment preventative maintenance.
  • Capable of performing production setup of manufacturing equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • Under direction of engineering or an upper level maintenance associate, assists in equipment installation and startup.
  • Interprets blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.
  • May be involved in Continuous and First Pass Yield Improvement.
  • May assist Engineer in Parts and Process qualification and evaluations.


What You Bring:



  • High school/trade school diploma, GED, or equivalent (e.g., ITC/NTC and above).
  • 2+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient at troubleshooting problems and performing a variety of complex maintenance related tasks.
  • Advanced knowledge of methods, practices and procedures in one or more craft areas.
  • Proficiency with tools and equipment common to the trade.
  • Uses tact and cooperative relationships while discussing and resolving mutual problems and collaborating on procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Adept at prioritizing and scheduling work completion.
  • Knowledge of PC, MS Office, and basic software.
  • Possesses pertinent license if required by law.


Compensation: The estimated hourly range for this position is $27.40 to $36.00 per hour at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. As a temporary associate, your employment will be managed directly through our approved agency provider.
