Its goal is to prepare well-educated, qualified, and competent direct-service psychologists who have a special commitment to direct community involvement and to underserved populations-professionals who can integrate scientific knowledge with innovation in the delivery of psychological services to individuals, families, groups, and organizations. Professionals receiving a doctoral degree in psychology should be capable of extending psychological knowledge and exhibiting the high level of analytic skills and theoretical understanding needed to use existing and emerging psychological knowledge.
Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator I for the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology ( GSAPP). This position reports to the Associate Dean of Administration and Faculty Affairs of GSAPP, and receives work direcion from the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, Program Directors and Department Chairs.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:

  • Provides academic and administrative support for graduate degree and non-degree programs.
  • Serves as administrative student support and general advising to masters and doctoral students in areas of academic policies and procedures, degree certification, and student engagement and scheduling.
  • Acts as the primary administrative contact for the department and supports the department leadership in its scheduling, events, records, communications, data.
  • Develops and maintains program, faculty and student documentation processes and reports, under general guidance

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in MS office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and Teams).
  • Experience in clerical, administrative, and/or academic support functions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience and or proficiency in University systems preferred (Marketplace, Salesforce, Course Atlas, Infosilem, REGIS, etc.)
Equipment Utilized
  • PC, printers, laptop, Ricoh copier/printers.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Onsite work in department office per school-wide scheduling expectations.
  • The position must be comfortable with in person, phone, and teleconferencing communications and meetings.
  • Requires availability/schedule within regular business hours, and requires the ability to engage in flexibility and problem solving in a fast-paced work environment.
  • The position will interface with students, faculty and other staff on a regular basis and must have excellent communication and professional skills.
