Security Officer - Distribution Center - Access Control

As a Security Officer - Distribution Center - Access Control in Sparrows Point, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a fast-paced logistics and distribution location, you will help manage site entry points, verify identification and shipping activity, and maintain visitor and vehicle logs. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and communicate clearly with team members and site personnel. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients and site personnel by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Manage access control at entrances and gates by verifying identification, checking credentials, issuing temporary badges as authorized, and directing drivers, visitors, and contractors to the proper check-in process.
• Monitor inbound and outbound traffic including deliveries and trailer movements by maintaining visitor and vehicle logs, confirming scheduled appointments as required, and reporting irregular activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including contacting site leadership and/or emergency services when appropriate and completing detailed incident documentation.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, yards, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access, assist with reporting hazards or maintenance issues, and observe for policy violations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
