Job Description
General Overview of the Program: The Health Partners Operations Intern is a dynamic, project-based role designed for a highly motivated junior or senior undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, Business, Analytics, Public Health, or a related field. This internship provides hands-on exposure to healthcare operations, business analytics, continuous improvement, and change management. The intern will support initiatives that improve performance, strengthen workflows, and drive organizational transformation across clinical and operational teams. This role is ideal for a student who is highly organized, curious, data-driven, and eager to learn how healthcare systems operate behind the scenes. Support Operational and Strategic Projects
- Participate in project workstreams tied to operational performance, access, patient experience, quality, and/or efficiency
- Support implementation plans and follow-up actions to drive progress against targets
- Contribute to development of standard work and operational tools
Contribute to Data Gathering and Data Analysis
- Collect, validate, and organize operational data from internal systems and stakeholders
- Build and maintain dashboards, trackers, or scorecard reporting (Excel, Power BI)
- Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities using data-driven insights
Assist with Change Management Activities
- Support communication planning, stakeholder engagement, and adoption strategies for operational changes
- Develop materials to support rollouts (FAQs, one-pagers, quick reference guides)
- Help gather feedback and document lessons learned to improve future implementation
Collaborate Across Teams
- Partner with leaders, clinic teams, and operational stakeholders across departments
- Attend project meetings, document action items, and support follow-ups
- Demonstrate professionalism and strong relationship-building in a matrix environment
Provide Administrative and Project Support
- Support project scheduling, meeting preparation, and documentation
- Maintain project plans, shared folders, and organized deliverables (Teams/SharePoint)
- Prepare summaries and progress updates for leaders
Additional Responsibilities
- Conduct research and benchmarking on best practices and comparable health systems
- Assist with process mapping and workflow reviews (current state/future state)
- Participate in observational learning (ex: Gemba walks, clinic workflow observations)
Internship Capstone Project
- As the main deliverable of the internship, the intern will complete a Capstone Project in partnership with operational leadership. The project will involve identifying an opportunity for improvement and developing a formal proposal with data-driven recommendations and an implementation plan. Project focus areas may include process improvement, workflow efficiency, service delivery enhancements, or strengthening cross-team collaboration.
The intern will present the final proposal to senior leaders, including the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Director of Administrative Services, and Market Directors of Operations, with additional stakeholders included as appropriate

* Previous internship, part-time work, volunteer experience, or academic project experience in business operations, healthcare, analytics, HR, or a related area preferred * Experience working in a team-based environment, supporting projects, and meeting deadlines |

* Candidate must be within 1-2 years of graduation from a Bachelor's or Master's program * Current Junior or Senior undergraduate (or graduate student) pursuing a degree in: Healthcare Administration Business Administration Analytics / Data Analytics Public Health Operations Management or a related field |
