Schedule Requirements:Some evenings and weekends required

Job Description

WPSU is seeking a parttimeEvents & Education Assistantto support the planning, preparation, and execution of community events, workshops, and educational initiatives. This position is well suited for an energetic, serviceoriented individual, particularly someone with a background in teaching who enjoys handson work and engaging with the public.

The Events & Education Assistant will work closely with the Events and Education team to prepare materials, organize supplies, and assist with event logistics both on-site and at community locations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with event setup and breakdown, including arranging tables, chairs, signage, and materials
  • Support event coordinators during events, workshops, and outreach activities
  • Track event details and maintain supply inventories
  • Prepare materials, kits, and resources for educational programs
  • Complete administrative tasks related to event planning and documentation
  • Collaborate with team members and take initiative in a fastpaced environment

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move boxes up to25 pounds; with or without accommodations
  • Availability forevening and weekend events
  • Ability to worktwo partial weekdayson-site in the Outreach Building
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Willingness to be an active, engaged member of the Events and Education team
  • Comfort with handson, physical tasks and dynamic event environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in education, community engagement, or youth/family programming
  • Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working with diverse audiences
  • Ability to adapt quickly and contribute ideas to improve event experiences
