POSITION SUMMARY:

The Tax Senior is responsible for supporting the Tax Manager in all aspects and is in charge of supporting all tax matters relating to the company and its owners. He/she adheres to the Accounting Policies and Procedures manual (APPM) set by Dominium and maintains a professional relationship and communicates regularly with DDA (Dominium Development & Acquisitions) staff and DMS (Dominium Management Services) staff who all must work together to accomplish tasks and solve issues that arise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:



  • Prepare Federal, State, and local tax returns for business entities, along with the supporting work papers necessary to complete the returns;
  • Prepare supporting work papers for individual owner's tax returns
  • Support tax planning for owners
  • Interact with external CPA firms as needed;
  • Supervise consultants as needed
  • Provide updates to manager/CFO/ownership as to status of taxes
  • Coordinate responses to tax notices received from taxing authorities
  • Support estate planning for owners as requested
  • Coordinate with the Development Department on the submission of Form 8609.
  • Advance knowledge of tax accounting, including industry specific tax laws, partnership income tax preparation, and taxation of property transactions
  • Perform initial review of the sales/refinance/resyndication waterfalls, coordinate process to move monies accordingly
  • General tax research using all available federal, state and third party resources;
  • Timely prepare Federal and State extensions along with payments as necessary.
  • Ensure that Dominium and its owners comply with quarterly estimated tax payments, information reporting, and other taxing authority requirements.
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned by the Tax Manager, CFO or owners/developers as needed.
  • Timely and regular attendance




      QUALIFICATIONS:



      • 4 year degree in accounting or related field and 2 years of accounting experience required. CPA strongly preferred.
      • Must be able to communicate clearly with the others orally and in writing (in English)
      • Must be able to perform math at a college level
      • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Power Point; Must be able to learn how to use Yardi, Sharefile, and Laserfiche after employed
      • Must be able to perform reasoning skills at a college level


      PAY: $30.00/hour
