Job Title Cash Accountant
Job Description About The Position | Major goals and objectives and location requirements The Cash Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing journal entries and reconciling GL accounts related to the Company's bank accounts and bank account activity, including virtual and clearing accounts. This activity will include, but is not limited to, deposits, transfers, payments, void and cancelled checks, return items, foreign exchange charges, lost deposit or payment items, and numerous others. The Cash Accountant will be expected to prepare both journal entries and reconciliations for assigned accounts timely and in compliance with company documentation standards to ensure company deadlines are being met. This role has the potential to change and add more duties in the future to meet the ever-changing team needs. The preferred candidate would be open to an environment that embraces change and a "can-do attitude". Hybrid 3x a week- (Des Moines, IA) In-office Expectations: This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week. About The Positions Contributions: Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
- 30% Create journal entries related to the Company's bank accounts and activity, both daily and month-end
- 30% Review and complete month-end reconciliations for all items listed above and additional, as assigned
- 20% Maintain Oracle Cash Management system
- 10% Partner with other departments to assist in accounting projects and answering related questions
- 10% Other duties, as assigned by manager
The Role's Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting Experience: 2-3 years of accounting experience preferred, but not required Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of Excel formulas, look-ups, pivot tables, etc.; preferred knowledge of Oracle
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Professional and solutions oriented.
- Self-accountable and driven towards superior effort and performance
- Works effectively as a team member in a collaborative environment.
