About the Job.

JPI is seeking a motivated Entry Level GIS Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with the collection, organization, and maintenance of spatial data to support a variety of projects. This position involves creating, editing, and updating maps and spatial databases, as well as performing basic spatial analyses to inform business decisions.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with GIS software, especially ArcGIS, is preferred. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or individuals looking to start their career in GIS.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

GIS

  • Assist in the collection, organization, and maintenance of spatial data for ongoing projects.

  • Create, edit, and update maps and spatial databases to ensure data accuracy and relevance.

  • Perform basic spatial analyses to support project objectives and organizational needs.

  • Generate reports, visualizations, and ArcGIS Online applications to address specific business requirements.

  • Support data quality assurance efforts and help maintain the accuracy of GIS datasets.

  • Collaborate with other departments and team members on GIS-related tasks and projects.

  • Facilitate the development of innovative GIS analytic solutions to support decision-making across the organization.

  • Assist in managing, maintaining, and expanding the application of GIS technology within the company.

  • Increase the availability and visibility of critical data, such as zoning data and changes in zoning, to drive efficient decision making.

  • Regularly reevaluate data and analysis tools to ensure maximum value and effectiveness.

Non-Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Education, Work Experience, & Physical Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on GIS.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Proficiency in using business software and tools, including MS Office.

  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
