As a Security Officer - Armed Hotel Patrol in Jacksonville, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a critical utilities location, you will conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and respond to alarms and calls for service. You will document observations, control access where needed, and deliver strong customer service through clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities at utility facilities.
  • Carry and maintain authorized duty weapon and equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, licensing requirements and post orders, using sound judgment and restraint.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, yards, access roads, substations and perimeter areas, helping to deter unauthorized entry, theft and/or vandalism.
  • Monitor access points, visitor activity, cameras and/or alarm systems; verify credentials and document entries, exits and deliveries per site procedures.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicate with site personnel and/or public responders as directed and complete detailed reports and logs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of armed security, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
  • Have an armed guard card and/or license.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma and/or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
