Description

Trident Seafoods is North America's largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company. Summary:

Leadsand coordinates activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse by performing the following duties.

EssentialFunctions:

  • Plans layout of stockroom, warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored.

  • Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing,maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems.

  • Studiesrecordsandrecommendsremedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock.

  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and todetermineadequacy of stock levels.

  • Schedules work for special and periodic inventories.

  • Traces history of items todeterminereasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.

  • Determineswork procedures, prepares work schedules, andexpeditesworkflow.

  • Issues written and oral instructions.

  • Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures.

  • Studies andstandardizesprocedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.

  • Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.

  • Adjusts errors and complaints.

This is a nonexempt position with an hourly rate of $27.50 to $33.42 per hour.

Minimum Requirements

RequiredQualifications:

  • 1-2 years related experience

  • Forklift certified or ability to become forklift certified

PreferredEducation & Experiences:

  • Experience in similar food industry

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities(KSAs):

  • Ability to read andcomprehendsimple instructions, shortcorrespondenceand memos.

  • Strong communicationskills and ability toproblem solve.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure including whole numbers,fractionsand decimals.

  • Ability to compute rate,rationand percentages

  • Microsoft office skills

Work Environment:

Production and external environment.While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee isfrequentlyexposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extremecold. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise levelinthe workis usually loud.

WorkAbility Requirements:

Theemployeeis regularly required tostand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employeeis occasionally required tosit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds,frequentlylift and/or move up to 25poundsand occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception.
