Job Summary
Responsible to secure NORDAM's network, systems and sensitive data by ensuring the right software and hardware is in place. Participates in IT projects that guarantee the safety of valuable information as well as internet and intranet infrastructure. Applies basic fundamental knowledge of basic principles, theories, concepts and industry practices to the area IT security.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
- Provides first level security compliance, monitoring and investigations.
- Develops solutions to routine basic problems or assignments of limited scope and complexity that require judgment and ingenuity following well-established policies and practices to assist in IT security.
- Learns and utilizes cyber defense tools for continuous monitoring and analysis of system activity to identify malicious activity.
- Applies basic knowledge to the use, interpretation, and implementation of security methodologies.
- Monitors and scans networks and systems for security breaches or intrusions, report possible threats or software issues, watches for irregular system behavior or trends and vulnerability.
- Completes documentation and escalation of incidents including history, status and potential impacts.
- Assists with applications and tools including but not limited to email gateway protection, incident tracking systems, URL filtering, sensitivity labeling and DLP, Vulnerability Management, Phishing, etc.
Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment. |
| Minimum Qualifications |
Education Requirements
Minimum 2 Year / Associate Degree. Cyber Security or other IT degree Preferred Other. ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity, SC-900 (Security, Compliance, Identity Fundamentals), SC-200 (Security Operations Analyst) If applicable, a combination of experience and training may be substituted for the education requirement.Experience Requirements 0-2 or more years experience year(s) Experience in IT Systems, Security or Cybersecurity Skills and Competencies
- Communicate effectively in written and verbal forms
- Ability to prioritize projects
- Critical thinking skills and ability to solve problems
- Basic knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Cloud Computing and other Windows-based technologies; also, SaaS, Security Tools (EDR/VMDR, SIEM, etc.)
- Basic scripting skills such as PowerShell and other languages
- Possess an investigative mind-set, i.e. introspective, introspective, curious, methodical, rational, analytical, logical, etc.
- Must be able to attain and maintain security clearance, if required

Physical Requirements
Must be able to work in excess of eight (8) hours per day and five (5) days per week, if required. Additionally, those who work at NORDAM Repair Division must be able to ascend and descend stairs.
