Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytics Engineer to join our centralized analytics engineering team at HawkEye 360. This team plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization by building robust data models, transformations, and analytics solutions. As a senior member of the team, you will work closely with stakeholders across multiple functions, such as System Operations, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering, to deliver high-quality, scalable analytics solutions.

This role is individual contributor-focused, requiring deep technical expertise and hands-on experience with modern data engineering and analytics tools. You will help design and implement best practices for data modeling, transformation, and visualization, with a strong emphasis on Snowflake and dbt.

As the Senior Analytics Engineer , your main responsibilities will be:

• Develop and maintain dbt-based data models and transformations to support analytics and reporting needs across the organization.
• Design and optimize Snowflake data warehouse structures for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient, reusable data solutions.
• Build and maintain reusable dashboards, data products, and metrics that enable stakeholders to explore and analyze data effectively.
• Apply software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, testing) to analytics workflows.
• Conduct deep-dive data analysis to answer complex business questions and provide actionable insights.
• Contribute to the evolution of the team's technical strategy by recommending improvements to data architecture, tooling, and processes.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential education and experience:

• BS or MS degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or data analytics.
• Expertise in Snowflake: schema design, performance tuning, and advanced SQL.
• Proficiency with dbt and git-based workflows for data transformation and modeling.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data modeling best practices.
• Familiarity with Python and libraries such as pandas for scripting and exploratory analysis.
• Experience building effective and reusable dashboards using tools like Tableau or similar.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with business stakeholders.

Desirable:

• Hands-on experience with additional databases or data stores (PostgreSQL, InfluxDB, Elasticsearch).
• Experience with dashboarding tools such as Grafana, Kibana, or Tableau.
• Familiarity with satellite-based remote sensing and/or software-defined radio

Base Salary Range: $130,000 - $160,000 annually

HawkEye 360 offers a compensation package that includes a competitive base salary plus annual performance bonus and benefits. We consider many factors when determining salary offers, such as candidate's work experience, education, training & skills, as well as market and business considerations. We are also open to considering candidates with experience and qualifications at a different level than required in a job posting, which may affect the compensation package offered.
