You'll join Microsoft Advertising's Product StorytellingTeam,anew,purpose drivenfunction built to be the connective tissue between product strategysales enablementand market execution. Our team exists to translate complex product capabilities into clear, compelling,insight lednarratives that help customersimmediatelyunderstand the value of our advertising and marketing solutions. In this role, you'll work in the Product Storytelling Team side-by-side with Product Marketing, Sales, Brand, Research, and Insights to turn product truths into customer centric narratives, scalable assets, and high impact go-to-market motions that drive adoption, clarity, and measurable business impact. Our team was created to close a known industry gap - customers and sellers need clearer, more emotionally engaging stories - and your work will directly address that need at one of the most exciting moments in our transformation.

As a Storytelling Strategist, you will shape how our products show up in the world. You'll architect the commercial narratives that define our market presence, infuse them with powerful customer and industry insight, and help translate them into the sales enablement and campaigns that move customers from understanding to action. You'll own narrative development end-to-end, collaborating across product, marketing, and sales teams to design gotomarket strategies, build high value content, and bring unified stories to life across the customer journey. This role demands mastery of modern storytelling, deep knowledge of digital advertising, and the ability to balance strategic clarity with creative craft to generate stories that resonate, differentiate, and scale.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. Responsibilities

Shape Product Vision & Influence Strategy

  • You will play a pivotal role in shaping thelong-termvision for one or more product or solution areas,serving as a strategic storyteller who connects product truth, customer need, and market opportunity. You will build deep partnerships acrossProduct Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Insights, and Brand to influence product roadmaps and ensure our innovations land with clarity and impact inthe market.

  • You will regularly engage senior stakeholders to champion, advise andtrainoncustomer needs and ensure the right product experiences, narratives, and value propositions are brought to life across everycustomer facingtouchpoint.

Develop Value Propositions, Messaging, & Global Frameworks

  • You willcreateclear,insight-ledvalue propositions rooted in customer goals, competitive dynamics, and market reality. These will feed into messaging and positioning frameworks that guide global content, campaigns, and storytelling.

  • You will help define and evolve the Storytelling Team's scalable bill ofsolutions and materials -ensuring every asset laddering from core decks to campaign content reinforces a unified, emotionally resonant product story.

LeadGotoMarketStrategy & Execution Across the Journey

  • You will define GTM strategies forhigh priorityinitiatives,identifyingtarget customers, their needs, and the scenarios where our solutions shine.You'llorchestrate execution across theend-to-endcustomer journey-from awareness, education, and consideration through adoption and expansion.

  • You will support integrated launch plans, strategic partnerships, and sales enablement motions to ensure stories are actionable, discoverable, and repeatable inthemarket.

Craft High Impact Narratives & Storytelling Assets

  • You will createcustomer centricnarratives and flagship core decks that translate complex capabilities into clear, emotionally resonant stories. Helpingcustomers, marketers, and field sellers understand not just what our products do, but why they matter.

  • You will lead the creation and continuous optimization of sales storytelling tools-including pitch decks,one pagers, case studies, FAQs, and narrative systems,built collaboratively with Sales, Product Marketing, Design, and Insights. Your work willensure thatassets areaccurate, scalable, and widely adopted.

Drive Cross Functional Narrative Alignment & Market Activation

  • You will partner with Integrated Marketing, field teams, and PMM to ensure our story is consistent across channels, campaigns, and markets-closing the historic gap between product strategy and field execution.

  • You will use insights, competitive intelligence, and performance data to refine messaging, uncover new opportunities, andidentifywhere the story must evolve tomaintaindifferentiation and resonance.

Build Storytelling Systems, Playbooks & Scalable Processes

  • You will contribute to the development of frameworks, playbooks, taxonomies, and workflows that make storytelling more scalable, repeatable, andinsight driven-supporting a worldclass,narrative firstfunction that elevates Microsoft Advertising's voice in market.

  • You will help refine and operationalize the team's storytelling framework, built to align with Messaging & Positioning frameworks and ensure seamless handoffs across PMM, Storytelling, and Integrated Marketing.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field AND 3+ years experience in marketing, product storytelling, GTM strategy, or related roles; or equivalent experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field AND 5+ years experience in marketing, product storytelling, GTM strategy, or related roles; or equivalent experience.

Additional/preferred qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field AND 6+ years' experience in marketing, product storytelling, GTM strategy, or related roles; or equivalent experience OR a Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field AND 8+ years' experience in marketing, product storytelling, GTM strategy, or related roles; or equivalent experience.

  • Demonstrated experience driving cross functional collaboration and influencing diverse stakeholders across product, sales, and marketing teams.

  • Experience in B2B productmarketing fortechnology, digital advertising, SaaS, orAIpoweredsolutions, including positioning, GTM strategy, sales enablement, or narrative development.

  • Proven ability to partner across Product, Sales, Integrated Marketing, Insights, andBrand to deliver unified narratives and integrated marketing plans that drive customer understanding and business results.

  • An ability to create clarity and work within new, developing contexts toestablishways of working and focus on delivery, rather than roadblocks - being comfortable with a "builders" mentality and "growth mindset".

  • Strong storytelling craft. Able to simplify complexity, create emotional resonancewithcustomers,and see how to translate complex technical solutions into meaningfulneed-basedcommunications, and build narratives that scale across audiences and channels.

Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
