Job Description:

The Team: End User Platform Services team consists of 11 members and manages 18,000~ physical workstation endpoints and remote solutions (Citrix, VDI, VPN, Intune) for client.

Duties:

  • Establish and maintain workstation/server infrastructure standards. Develop, maintain, and test custom integration solutions for application and software packaging which follows configuration standards. Perform monitoring and maintenance activities of the workstation/server environment.
  • 25% Design and maintain custom integration solutions in support of business processing requirements. Establish standard configuration for software packages. Manage/maintain administrative tools for software delivery and remote management.
  • 20% Administer and deploy infrastructure software to clients including new builds, master files, upgrades, and patches. Record, verify, and coordinate customer requests to ensure appropriate distribution. Plan, establish, and follow processes for notifications and alerts.
  • 20% Perform monitoring/maintenance activities of the workstation/server environment and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Find and troubleshoot problems before they become issues to the user and act as a higher-level support for help desk for certain problems.
  • 15% Install, configure, and maintain infrastructure software. Design, develop, compile, test, debug, document, and maintain custom scripts and utilities. Create comprehensive test plans based on configurations and other specifications. Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • 10% Develop and maintain a comprehensive infrastructure software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation. Maintain growth statistics, space forecasts, tape libraries, and software and hardware inventories.
  • 5% Ensure continuity with system software licensing and maintenance agreements. Conduct routine hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with the organization's established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

Day to Day:

Full stack developer to help modernize development pipeline for the workstation and Citrix platforms. This role involves scripting, building test code, and managing source control and deployment tools. Strong workstation management and troubleshooting skills, support automation initiatives, and assist with technical aspects of Citrix, VDI, and Zero Touch projects.

  • Attend daily standups to share yesterday's progress, today's tasks, and any roadblocks.
  • If junior/full stack developer experience, will help with design, develop, integrate, test pipeline solutions and APIs across both front end and back end technologies around our technologies. (Citrix, Workstations, Intune, BigFix, Splunk, ServiceNow)
  • Check Azure Boards and ServiceNow daily for new work assignments or issues.
  • Collaborate on assigned team projects with technical leads.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor network printers (MFPs) as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and monitor Citrix XenDesktop as needed.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for physical and virtual workstations to Workstation Support teams.
  • Work with team to configure, update, and document build standards for monthly image builds using BigFix OSD or Intune Autopilot.
  • Assist in test, document, and maintain hardware seed units in the imaging lab for build validation.
  • Document configurations and standards with technology owners to aid workstation support teams.
  • Research with technical team and stay current on hardware standards and performance testing tools.



Skills: Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Able to communicate with system users to identify, explain, and resolve problems. Solid understanding of client/server relationships to identify problem sources concerning system operations. Strong organizational skills.



Required Software and Other Tools:

  • Strong understanding of relevant operating system and server hardware and software. Microsoft Office.



Preferred Software and Other Tools:

  • Proficiency with Citrix
  • Work Environment: Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer. null



Education: Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree. or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree



Required Work Experience:

  • 4 years of applicable workstation, server, and/or application support experience to include software and hardware troubleshooting. null



Required Technologies:

  • A+ Certification is required at a minimum.
  • High technical knowledge Microsoft Windows OS, Group Policy and Active Directory
  • Python/JavaScript/TypeScript;
  • Experience with build pipeline tools (GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins)
  • High technical depth of PC hardware and troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Concept of Intune device management, MDM, and Azure Active Directory



Nice To Have:

  • Junior or Full Developer Stack Developer Expertise a plus
  • Having experience with more than one language is a big plus.
  • Experience working with and integrating external APIs (particularly HTTP restful APIs) a big plus
  • Familiarity with enterprise logging/monitoring (Splunk, App Insights)
  • Some PowerShell, scripting knowledge or concept of automation.
  • Some concept of Citrix Cloud or XenDesktop.
  • Some knowledge of software and image deployment tools (Intune, Big Fix, SCCM/ECD).
  • Good documentation and technical writing skills.
