NCGrowth is a national center building an economy with opportunities for all to prosper. We provide technical assistance to businesses, governments, anchor institutions, and other organizations to create good jobs and new wealth in economically distressed communities. We produce applied research and develop innovative policies that promote equitable development. We host unique, cross-sector convenings and workshops to bring together diverse perspectives. With staff in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia, our work and thought leadership range in scope from local to international. NCGrowth is an affiliated center of the
UNC Kenan Institute of Private Enterprise. |
| Position Summary |
Analysts are graduate students who provide technical assistance to community leaders, business owners, policymakers, and other organizations to create good jobs and new wealth in economically distressed communities. Since 2012, analysts have helped hundreds of NCGrowth clients across the U.S.
Analysts are hired as part-time, temporary employees and are enrolled graduate and PhD students in Business Administration, Planning, Industrial Engineering, Agriculture, Information Sciences, Policy and other disciplines. This is a remote position; however, we are seeking analysts to travel to clients 2-3 times over the course of the projects.
Examples of Past Projects:
IMPAN analysis; feasibility studies; Data visualization; Forestry and farm management plans; Manufacturing process improvement; Creating financial models, business plans, marketing plans, SOPs, HR policies.
Required: Valid Drivers License. |
| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. |
| Management Preferences |
Preferred experience/knowledge in any of the following: Agribusiness, Forestry, Natural Resource Management; Business, Economics, Entrepreneurship; Marketing and Communications; Finance and Accounting; Social Media, Digital Marketing; Engineering, Manufacturing; Library Science; Statistics; and/or Learning Sciences |
