Aquatics - Senior Lifeguard - Pool & Beaches Pay Rate: $22.46 - $26.82 Take your lifeguarding skills to the next level and make a meaningful impact in your community this summer! The City of Kirkland is hiring Senior Lifeguards to lead at the Peter Kirk Pool and Kirkland's three swimming beaches. In this leadership role, you'll mentor new lifeguards, assist with swim lessons, provide outstanding customer service, and help ensure that swimmers stay safe and confident in the water. This is a rewarding opportunity to strengthen your skills, gain valuable leadership experience, and play a key role in keeping our aquatic programs running smoothly. Previous lifeguarding experience is required, making this the perfect chance for experienced lifeguards to step up, guide others, and contribute to a fun, dynamic aquatics team.

- Good verbal, written, and telephone communication skills are required.
- Ability to interact courteously with the public to acknowledge both compliments and complaints.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated good judgement in problem solving and responding to customer needs.
- Proficiency in standard computer software.

Minimum Qualifications
- A current American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification is required on or before the first day of employment.
- Minimum of two seasons of aquatics experience.
- Minimum 18 years of age.
- Must be able to pass the Aquatics Skill Checks.
- Successful completion of a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act

Hours of Work Employee works a flexible schedule which includes early morning, daytime, evening hours, and weekends June-September. Work schedule and needs may fluctuate during periods of low attendance and poor weather days. Must be available to work on July 4th. Special Note Applicants are encouraged to submit their profiles at the earliest possible date as screening, interviewing, and hiring decisions will be made throughout the recruitment period, until such time as all vacancies are filled. Interviews will be scheduled in March and April. The position and interviews will close on Friday, April 18th. Candidates who are selected to interview will be required to complete a criminal background check.
