Job Summary:

The System Assistant Vice President, Supply Chain Logistics and Warehousing, provides enterprise-wide leadership and strategic oversight of logistics, warehousing, and centralized inventory management. This role is critical to ensuring supply chain resiliency, operational efficiency, and ultimately supporting high-quality patient care across the health system. The logistics umbrella is comprised of functions including shuttle bus services, general and lab courier, mail and print services, and fleet management for more than 150 vehicles. In addition to logistics, this role is also responsible for Endeavor Health's warehouse and the management and distribution of its inventory, as well as supply management across the Endeavor Health Medical Group sites. As the health system's expert in logistics and warehousing, the System AVP contributes to the Supply Chain strategic vision, drives operational excellence through standardization and continuous improvement, leads a diverse, multi-disciplinary workforce, and is accountable for staff development, workforce engagement, performance outcomes, digital transformation, and the successful execution of system-wide initiatives aligned with organizational goals.

What you will do:

  • Leads all Supply Chain Logistical Support Services activities across the health system, which includes mailroom and print services, hospital shuttles, general and lab couriers, and vehicle fleet management
  • Leads all Supply Chain Warehousing Services activities across the health system, including central inventory management and Medical Group supply distribution and management
  • Serves as a strategic contributor and represents Supply Chain Logistics on a number of system committees; builds consensus across stakeholders to assure that the organization implements leading Supply Chain practice and adopts transformational technology in a practical and effective manner
  • Collaborates with the organization's Supply Chain Vice Presidents and other executive leaders to socialize the supply chain strategy across their teams; responsible for the socialization and achievement of established goals for functions including warehousing, mailroom services, shuttles, couriers, vehicle fleet management, and Medical Group distribution
  • Partners with the Supply Chain leaders in the establishment of uniform systems, policies and procedures and reviewing and improving functions as necessary; enforces procedures and standards for warehousing and/or transporting sterile supply items, safe and timely transfer of equipment, and maintaining/providing (distribution) of adequate supplies needed by the Medical Group sites
  • Hires, trains, evaluates, and guides subordinate managerial personnel and assures application of corrective action procedures of subordinates is consistent among managerial team members and are within the guidelines of corporate policy; approves employment, promotions, changes in compensation, or other employee movement within their span of control
  • Serves as a champion for continuous improvement and digital transformation within Supply Chain Logistics and Warehousing
  • Develops an annual labor and financial budget for all cost centers under their leadership, manages operations to achieve the budget, and prepares variance reports monthly as indicated; develops a three-year capital plan to assure a modern, efficient fleet of vehicles and copy/print devices
  • Supports and promotes the health system's interests by representing the organization across professional supply chain networks and organizations
  • Assures adequate resiliency of the system supply chain via warehousing strategies, demand planning, and centralized inventory management that align with the priorities of Supply Chain Operations, Resiliency, and Procurement

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Health Administration, Business Administration, Finance or other applicable field required. Master's degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Health Administration, Business Administration, Finance or other applicable field strongly preferred
  • Certification: Preferred certifications include:
    • Process improvement certifications (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, 5S)
    • Supply chain and logistics certifications, including:
    • APICS CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management)
    • APICS CLTD (Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution)
    • APICS CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional)
    • ISM CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management)
    • SOLE CPL (Certified Professional Logistician)
    • CSCMP SCPro Level 1-3
    • ISCEA CHSCM (Certified HealthCare Supply Chain Manager)
    • Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE)
  • Experience: 8+ years of healthcare supply chain, logistics, or warehousing experience, with a minimum of 3 years of that experience being in a director-level position
  • Unique or Preferred Skills:
    • Expert knowledge of logistics, fleet management, warehousing and inventory management strategies in healthcare
    • Well organized and able to perform effectively under pressure; must be able to effectively coordinate multiple projects and activities
    • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
    • Humble with a servant leadership approach and a demonstrated track record of success achieved in a collaborative environment
    • Resilient, self-motivated, and capable of building and maintaining professional relationships across a wide variety of roles
    • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale change initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
    • Professional with sophisticated intellectual capability, nimble, confident, and comfortable in a matrix environment
    • A passion to mentor, develop, and lead staff at all levels
    • Intermediate knowledge of Workday Supply Chain or the ability to attain intermediate level of proficiency
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced): Excel (financial modeling, data analysis, dashboards), Word, PowerPoint (executive presentations), and Outlook for enterprise communication and calendar management
    • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Supply Chain Systems: Experience with materials management, inventory, warehousing, and logistics platforms
    • Transportation, Fleet, and Logistics Management Systems: Tools supporting courier routing, fleet maintenance, telematics, and barcoding software
    • Data Analytics and Reporting Tools: Ability to interpret operational and financial data, develop KPIs, analyze trends, and present insights to executive stakeholders
    • Collaboration and Communication Technologies: Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WebEx, SharePoint, and document management platforms to support system-wide coordination and standardization
