Translating design intent into exceptional, performance driven apparel requires technical mastery, precision, and forward thinking leadership. As Senior Manager Pattern Engineering Apparel, you will lead all pattern engineering activities for your assigned business unit and drive execution of the global size and fit strategy in close partnership with the horizontal pattern engineering team. You will ensure alignment with adidas standards of quality, innovation, and consumer focus. This role directly influences product consistency, speed to market, and the evolution of technical capabilities across the apparel portfolio. As a critical leader within Product Creation, you will advance technical excellence, optimize development processes, and build long term organizational capability that strengthens our competitive advantage and elevates the consumer experience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Pattern Engineering Leadership: Execute global pattern engineering strategies using efficient development processes aligned with organizational and business unit objectives. Technical Excellence and Innovation: Apply advanced business unit specific pattern expertise in partnership with the horizontal pattern engineering team to address evolving consumer trends, performance requirements, and innovation priorities. Cross Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain strong partnerships across Product Development, Product Design, Product Marketing, Materials Creation, Strategy and Innovation, Digital Creation, Sourcing and Costing, and Technical teams to ensure seamless product execution. Strategic Representation: Serve as the business unit pattern engineering representative and collaborate with Global Brand counterparts to align on complex initiatives and long term strategic objectives. Process Optimization and Quality Assurance: Drive alignment and consistency across pattern creation processes while upholding uncompromising quality standards and monitoring development calendars to achieve key milestones. Global Pattern Consolidation: Lead global basic pattern consolidation across business units, align Creation Centers and markets, and make final decisions on foundational pattern standards. Training and Capability Building: Establish and grow a consultant and expert function within the global pattern engineering team to train pattern engineers, product developers, and T1 partners and strengthen technical capability across the organization. Seasonal and Long Term Planning: Communicate seasonal product initiatives, process enhancements, and long term category vision to internal and external stakeholders and contribute to short, mid, and long term planning strategies. People Management and Organizational Leadership: Build and sustain an effective team structure, allocate workstreams based on complexity and capacity, and foster a motivational environment that supports coaching and career development. Talent Development and Succession Planning: Identify high potential talent, implement performance frameworks, and develop succession plans to ensure long term team sustainability and leadership growth. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * Technical college, fashion school, or university degree in pattern making, grading, Meisterbrief, or equivalent education. * Minimum 5 years of related experience in apparel pattern engineering across multiple business units. * Advanced expertise in 2D and 3D creation tools and current industry technologies. * Advanced proficiency in CAD systems, virtual platforms, graphic software, MS Office, Adobe applications, and Product Data Management systems. * Strong understanding of apparel product creation tools, sourcing allocation impacts, and cost quality relationships. * Demonstrated ability to think strategically, synthesize complex data, and develop innovative technical solutions. * Proven ability to lead through change and make sound decisions in ambiguous or evolving environments. * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and persuasively. * Experience establishing performance frameworks and coaching direct reports. * Fluent in English, both written and spoken. * Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE * Initial team management experience. * Experience working within global Creation Centers. * Exposure to digital transformation initiatives within apparel product creation. WORK ENVIRONMENT This role follows a hybrid work model, with in office collaboration Monday through Thursday and remote work on Fridays, subject to business needs. The primary location for this position is Los Angeles, California. The working language is English. Occasional domestic and international travel is required. The role operates in a standard office and collaborative development environment with extended screen time and frequent cross time zone engagement. REPORTING STRUCTURE This role reports to senior leadership within the Product Creation organization. The position includes direct people management responsibilities and oversight of team performance and development. You will collaborate extensively with cross functional departments and global stakeholders to drive high visibility strategic pattern engineering initiatives across the organization. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary Range: $111,000 to $147,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and demonstrated proficiency in the role.
