Position Summary

The Director of Academic Planning and Strategy is a dynamic, evolving position responsible for the development, implementation, and strategy of the Undergraduate Legal Education Program (ULE) at NYU Law, and designed to scale alongside the program it supports. Act as a chief advisor to the Vice Dean for University Partnerships and the Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs on all aspects of ULE and is a core member of the program's senior leadership team. In partnership with the Vice Dean and the Associate Dean, develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum and academic programming. Provide strategic leadership, expert advisement, thought partnership, and incisive operational and analytical insights. Focus on foundational design, research, and implementation in the early stage, establishing core curriculum, structures and processes. As the program expands, drive sustained excellence and optimize operations at scale, managing the program and developing a growth-oriented strategic plan that enhance the NYU Law brand. Catalyze action within immediate team and across various schools and central university units, through persuasive communication, strong collaborative relationships, and evidence-based strategic planning.

This role is designated hybrid, but will be remote for a period of time at the outset. The incumbent will need to be able to commute to campus as needed throughout employment, including the initial remote period.



Qualifications

Required Education:
Master's Degree in fields related to business, management, policy, higher education, social sciences or others with appropriate experience and skills.

Preferred Education:
Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in fields related to business, management, policy, higher education, social sciences or others with appropriate experience and skills.

Required Experience:
7+ years experience with significant responsibility and accountability simultaneously managing multiple complex and time sensitive projects within a large organization involving diverse stakeholders, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Demonstrated effectiveness in leading the development and delivery of market responsive educational programs; proven ability to work collaboratively to effect change and meet organizational goals. Ability to design, develop and deliver education that uses a range of technology. Excellent presentation and communication, listening and interpersonal skills. Possesses exceptional strategic foresight, advanced analytical skills, and a proven ability to influence and lead complex initiatives across diverse stakeholders without direct authority. Requires outstanding organizational and project management expertise, coupled with the ability to drive strategic execution and operational excellence in a dynamic academic environment. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills are essential. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Advanced data, research and analytical capabilities. Excellent technological and analytical skills, and a willingness to acquire advanced knowledge of Excel, Google Applications, database management, data visualizations, reporting, and information management. Trustworthy, reliable and consistent demonstration of integrity as a leader. Demonstrated financial literacy, including budget management and cost-revenue analysis. Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $120,000.00 to USD $160,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
