Position Summary Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and in collaboration with the CIO and Managing Directors, develop and implement investment strategy and risk management frameworks for assigned asset classes. Lead research and portfolio management processes, including sourcing investments, undertaking qualitative and quantitative analytical work. Conduct research and develop recommendations regarding strategy and specific investments intended to deliver excellent investment performance for the University. Build effective relationships with asset managers and independently conduct in-depth due diligence with the highest standard of ethics and individual integrity. Effectively represent, and clearly communicate ideas on behalf of, the Investment Office to both internal and external audiences. Collaborate with Investment Office colleagues in support of continuous improvement opportunities and other team efforts, serving as a team leader and mentor to analysts, interns, and others. Qualifications Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Required Experience: 7+ years Investment experience. Relevant experience can include work at an endowment, foundation, corporate or public plan sponsor, family office, or asset management firm. Experience must include a leading role in the diligence of external investment managers. Additional experience in direct investments or investment transactions preferred. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Significant knowledge of multiple asset classes, including leading managers, evolution of the investment opportunity and how to evaluate a range of investment philosophies and processes through qualitative and quantitative assessment. Proactive and highly analytical problem solver with the ability to plan, execute and present insightful research and action-oriented investment recommendations. Demonstrated ability to produce outcomes that further institutional investment goals. Strong communication skills and the ability to use data effectively to support ideas and recommendations, including the ability to produce in-depth memos in long form prose and that incorporate extensive data analysis. Demonstrated ability to represent the Investment Office with maturity and credibility for a range of audiences including colleagues, Investment Committee members, University constituents, senior members of the investment industry and peers. Ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior individuals across the University and investment industry to further the interests of the portfolio. Outstanding integrity at the highest levels with the interests of the University and colleagues top of mind. Ability to take a process oriented approach, with strong organizational skills and superior detail orientation to ensure the accuracy and legitimacy of data supporting decisions. Ability to work effectively both individually in team settings, including the ability to motivate and energize people at all levels and functions to pursue common objectives and business goals. Additional Information In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $300,000.00 to USD $340,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
