About the Role
The General Dynamics Land Systems Summer 2026 Internship Program provides an opportunity for students looking to start or continue the transition from academia into industry. Our three-month internship assignments provide compensation based on area of study and class standing and have the students embedded in key functional areas of our business, getting real-world experience and mentorship from seasoned professionals.
As part of your summer experience, you will use your education, experience and creativity to make an impact.Within the Global Marketing & Communications department, you will be a fully engaged member of a highly productive team with years of experience in external, internal and executive communications and brand marketing.

Responsibilities to Expect for this Role
  • Social media content development, planning and execution
  • Writing and editing internal and external communications (news articles, announcements, etc.)
  • SharePoint internal site management
  • PowerPoint and presentation design: Design and create visually engaging, high-quality PowerPoint presentations that effectively communicate complex information in an easily digestible and appealing way for enterprise leadership, business development and more
  • Assist with marketing strategizing and execution
  • Assist with special events planning and execution
  • Occasional photography assignments

Qualifications Sought
  • Pursuing abachelor's degree in communications, advertising, marketing, journalism or a similar field
  • Attained at least a sophomorestatus based on university/college class standing requirements at the start of the internship
  • At least 18 years old
  • A U.S. Person (i.e. a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.)
  • Successfully pass standard pre-employment screens and provide an official college or university transcript from their school before their first day of employment
  • Be able to complete a minimum of a full-time, three-month assignment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word
  • Attention to detail with a keen eye for news value, grammar, spelling and style
  • Ability to multitask, meet or beat deadlines and build strong team relationships
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and operate in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suites (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.) and other design tools
  • Adobe Premiere Pro (video/video editing) experience
  • XML, HTML experience
  • Knowledge of AP style guidelines
