What You'll Need:

  • Intermediate knowledge of PC usage required to include using Word, Excel, Microsoft Windows, and data entry operations.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, business, or related discipline is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of direct supervisory experience in manufacturing environment, preferably supervising teams >20 individuals.
  • Combination of education, skills and experience will be considered.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures manual, and to comprehend basic instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, lead, co-workers and other personnel. Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English. Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:



  • Must be able to measure using the metric system


  • Intermediate math skills are needed to include the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, to practical situations; ability to apply mathematical operations to tasks associated with the production of mattresses.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:



  • Fork truck license a plus, ability to complete fork truck license certification required.
  • Preference will be given to Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Manufacturing, or other related Certification.

  • The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Depending on the duty being performed, gloves may be required. Safety shoes and glasses required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
  • Depending on the duties, the supervisor may be need to drive a powered industrial lift truck (fork lift).
