DELTA's role within the Office of the Provost is to advance the integration and support of learning technologies in NC State's academic programs and courses, both on campus and at a distance.
DELTA supports distance-based credit programs and courses for the university and provides enterprise academic technology and instructional support services for all modes of course delivery. | Essential Job Duties |
The Institutional Research Analysis position will lead
DELTA research projects related to its strategic planning, including preparing statistical reports, analyzing quantitative measurements, developing assessment tools, and analyzing and reporting survey results. Reporting to the Director of
DELTA Research and Analysis, this role will lead
DELTA Grant evaluations and digital education instructional initiatives, assess high-impact learning experiences, conduct mixed methods research, and collaborate with NC State faculty and DELTA's units to benchmark best practices and improve online and blended learning environments. The analyst's work will enable more timely and actionable insights into DELTA's impact on instructional technology teaching and learning, while directly supporting its current commitments and long-term strategic goals. |

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Master's degree in Education, Higher Education research and assessment, Psychological Research, or a related field from an accredited university.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in assessment planning and support, preferably in a post-secondary education setting.

| Other Required Qualifications |
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative research design and analysis, including working with large datasets drawn from student information systems, online survey platforms, and learning management systems
- Demonstrated experience in using appropriate statistical tools and software packages to administer surveys and analyze data (e.g., Qualtrics, Stata, R, SAS, and/or SPSS)
- Ability to write reports and effectively communicate research findings at different levels for a variety of academic audiences
- Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple simultaneous research initiatives (from goals and objectives through survey design and reporting), focusing on the effect technology-enhanced, blended, and online/distance education pedagogy has on student learning and teaching
- Graduate-level written and verbal communication skills

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Ability to think analytically and relate statistical concepts and applications to statistical and non-statistical users
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple responsibilities and tasks
- Working knowledge of online and blended instructional design best practices and processes
- Working knowledge of instructional technology training best practices
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues whose expertise ranges from technology support, project management, digital media, graphic design and animation, course quality, and marketing and communication, as examples
- Experience with data visualization tools and building data dashboards
- A record of working both collaboratively and autonomously on simultaneous projects, with the ability to seek direction when needed
- A record of presenting research at local and national academic conferences and symposia
- Commitment to a career involving digital education online and blended teaching and learning, and emerging instructional technologies
