ChristianaCare's Outpatient Neurology at the Health Care Center, Newark is looking for a detail-oriented, adaptable, and highly organized Medical Office Assistant I with strong communication skills and the ability to proactively solve problems in a fast-paced environment.

Outpatient Neurology- HCC at Newark is located at 200 Hygeia Drive in Newark, Delaware. At ChristianaCare's outpatient neurology practice, our neurologists partner closely with patients to create individualized treatment plans that support living well with neurological conditions. Our team is trained to help patients effectively manage current symptoms, recognize and address new concerns, and receive the appropriate treatment at every stage of their care. The Medical Office Assistant I schedules appointments with attention to insurance, greets patients while collecting necessary information, and processes referrals while maintaining confidentiality.

Work Schedule:

• Monday - Friday: 7:30am to 5:00pm

• Hours could vary, will not exceed 40 hours/week

• No weekends or holidays

Duties / Responsibilities:
The Medical Office Assistant I handles payments, verifies insurance coverage, coordinates referrals, and reconciles daily appointments and payments. They manage communications by answering calls, relaying messages, and using EMR systems to coordinate with providers and staff. The role includes updating patients, scheduling tests and appointments, maintaining medical records, resolving patient issues, supporting administrative tasks, and following safety protocols, with additional duties as needed.

Position Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or GED required.

• Experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not required.
