Position Description:
Plan, forecast, lead, direct, and coordinate work of xPL staff, subcontractors, and suppliers on projects. Oversee and confirm implementation of planned work for adherence to contracted scope for safety, schedule sequence, quality of work performed, and production planning and tracking. Supervise Trade labor in areas of responsibility.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
* Implement jobsite safety program in collaboration with Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) team to support xPL team members and Trades to comply with standards and applicable safety codes and regulations.
* Develop Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) with Forepersons to enable quality daily pre-task planning.
* Foster workplace environment where all people demonstrate highest standards of care for each other using Turner's Active Caring philosophy.
* Thoroughly understand project scope and complexity Sequence work to meet project schedule and estimated productivit communicate with xPL Production Manager to incorporate xPL Manufacturing Facility activities, durations, and flow into project schedule.
* Establish production requirements with Trades Foreperson and measure results weekly, oversee progress to promote coordinated project operations and adjust work practices and crew assignments to boost production where possible.
* Develop resource management plan, communicate, and implement performance of work related to Trade staffing levels.
* Monitor and report executed quantities and percentage of completion for xPL Manufacturing Facility tasks and share findings at scheduled production meetings.
* Manage hiring and termination decisions related to Trade labor, maintain communication of decisions with xPL Production and Trades managers.
* Monitor jobsite deliveries for approved materials at the time and quantities as defined in project schedule.
* Develop and maintain relationships with various labor sources to identify qualified labor to fulfill project staffing needs.
* Resolve local area problems related to procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor, and equipment schedule; escalating as needed.
* Supervise and mentor SPO Trade forepersons, deliver timely performance and constructive feedback, contribute to performance appraisals and identify appropriate training to help with development needs.
* Identify, investigate solutions, communicate approach, discuss and/or resolve field issues with stakeholders as appropriate (e.g., Project leaders, Trades Forepersons, Owners, Owner's Representatives, Architects, and/or Engineers).
* Encourage and reinforce development behavior of forepersons to enhance Trade staff capabilities for career progression.
* Identify and communicate high potential Trade staff for career progression to xPL Production and SPO Trades managers.
* Manage installation of work in compliance with approved contract documents.
* Monitor and confirm accuracy of estimated quantities and manage procurement of materials.
* Assist with bidding work to review productivity and approach for implementing work.
* Perform constructability reviews and analyze drawings to identify specified components that may cause manufacturing constraints to be resolved.
* Utilize continuous improvement for manufacturing methods such as Last Planner System (LPS) for proactive scheduling.
* Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.


  • Qualifications:
    * Bachelor's Degree from accredited program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Building
    Construction, or related field of study a plus; minimum of 3 years of related experience performing as Superintendent
    managing self-perform work, or relevant experience (e.g., Trades Foreperson, Surveyor, Project Engineer), or equivalent
    combination of education, training, and experience
    * In-depth technical knowledge of manufacturing and related tools and equipment
    * Knowledge of manufacturing means and methods, scheduling and cost control procedures, general contract understanding, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications, and Trade practices
    * Able to anticipate and communicate issues/risks and information to non-technical audiences
    * Knowledge of continuous improvement concepts, principles, and methodologies
    * Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawing specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule
    * In-depth knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) practices
    * Conceptual ability to work with minimum information and quickly develop understanding of requirements
    * Proficient skills in project management, able to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines
    * Leadership management skills with ability to forge relationships with stakeholders and indirect reports
    * Professional verbal and written communication skills, able to present information clearly
    * Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications
    * Travel may be required

    distances via a variety of conveyances. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and occasionally lift and/or
    move up to 50 pounds.

    shock. The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee
    occasionally works in an office setting. The noise in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate in an office setting. The
    employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
