Summary of Job Duties:Reporting to the Director of Transfer and Adult Services, the Student Success Analyst serves as the primary analyst and assessment specialist responsible for monitoring student success outcomes, supporting retention strategy implementation, and evaluating peer coaching and other targeted interventions. The Analyst partners with Enrollment Management, Institutional Effectiveness, Advising, and Student Affairs to ensure that data related to transfer and adult learner success are timely, accurate, actionable, and aligned with institutional priorities.

This position supports UAPB's strategic focus on improving persistence, retention, and degree completion, particularly for transfer, adult, and post-traditional learners. The Student Success Analyst will play a critical role in strengthening data-informed decision-making, supporting peer coaching initiatives, and evaluating the effectiveness of student success interventions housed within the Office of Transfer and Adult Services.

The Student Success Analyst will perform the following duties in collaboration with the Director of Transfer and Adult Services and campus partners:

Student Success Data Analysis and Reporting
*Collect, analyze, and interpret student success data related to transfer and adult learners, including persistence, retention, progression, and completion metrics.
*Develop dashboards, scorecards, and recurring reports to support decision-making within the Office of Transfer and Adult Services.
*Disaggregate data by key student characteristics (e.g., age, transfer status, Pell eligibility, race/ethnicity, enrollment intensity) to identify opportunity gaps and trends.
*Support benchmarking against institutional goals and peer institutions where appropriate.

Retention Strategy Support and Implementation
*Support the design and monitoring of targeted retention strategies for transfer and adult learners.
*Identify early-risk indicators and collaborate with staff to inform outreach and intervention strategies.
*Monitor the effectiveness of onboarding, advising handoffs, and re-engagement initiatives.
*Translate data insights into practical recommendations for improving student success outcomes.

Peer Coaching and Program Evaluation
*Support the implementation and assessment of peer coaching or peer mentoring initiatives designed to improve engagement and persistence.
*Track participation, utilization, and outcomes associated with peer coaching programs.
*Assist in developing assessment tools (e.g., surveys, focus group protocols) to evaluate program impact.
*Prepare summary reports documenting outcomes, lessons learned, and recommendations for improvement.

Assessment, Continuous Improvement, and Compliance
*Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by supporting evaluation cycles (plan-do-study-act) for transfer and adult learner initiatives.
*Assist with documentation and reporting related to accreditation, Title III, grants, or institutional accountability efforts as assigned.
*Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with institutional definitions and metrics.
*Collaborate with Institutional Effectiveness to align office-level metrics with university-wide student success indicators.

Collaboration and Communication
*Work collaboratively with advisors, coordinators, and program staff to ensure data are used effectively in daily practice.
*Present findings and insights in meetings, working sessions, and planning discussions.
*Support a culture of evidence-based decision-making within the Office of Transfer and Adult Services. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution (Data Analytics, Education, Social Sciences, Public Administration, Higher Education, or related field).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in institutional research, student success analytics, assessment, enrollment management, or related areas in higher education.
  • Demonstrated experience working with student-level data, dashboards, or reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate data findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Institutional Research, Data Analytics, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Experience analyzing retention, persistence, progression, or completion data.
  • Familiarity with peer mentoring or peer coaching models in higher education.
  • Experience using student information systems, degree audit systems, or CRM platforms.
  • Knowledge of equity-minded data practices and disaggregated analysis.
  • Experience working with transfer or adult learner populations.
