Overview

JOB DESCRIPTION: TRC creates and implements sophisticated and innovative solutions to the challenges facing America's energy markets and infrastructure. TRC Advanced Energy is seeking an Associate Project Manager who has the skills and ability to lead and keep a team organized and motivated to perform at its best. This Energy Program Team Lead will oversee a group of "energy advisors" who provide technical project support for the ESA Multifamily Energy Savings Program: a large statewide utility program that provides energy efficiency upgrades to affordable housing properties in California. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience working on California utility programs, managing staff, and leading teams.

The Energy Program Team Lead will be part of the program's Technical Team and be responsible for day-to-day oversight, delegation of work, guidance and support required to keep the program's energy advisors on task and working toward completing projects on time. Energy advisors are technical staff members who have a portfolio of projects (typically 50-100 each) and work directly with property owners and contractors to design energy efficiency upgrades for existing multifamily properties and coordinate payment of incentives after project completion. This work includes conducting on-site pre-installation energy audits, recommending upgrades to reduce energy, overseeing construction scopes and schedules, and verifying work performed in order to release incentive payments to property owners or contractors and record energy savings for the utilities. The Energy Program Team Lead will exercise superb organizational and problem-solving skills to support energy advisors through each stage of their projects.

The position is preferred to be located at one of TRC's northern California offices: Rancho Cordova (Sacramento), San Francisco, or Oakland. Other locations may be considered but it is desirable that the Energy Program Team Lead be located in the region where most energy advisors are based. Staff are encouraged to collaborate in-office when appropriate. You'll be joining a team of collaborative professionals that have a passion for delivering sustainable energy solutions and bridging gaps between disadvantaged communities and funding sources to improve energy efficiency at existing multifamily affordable housing properties.
