Job Description and Salary

ArentFox Schiff LLP seeks a patent prosecution attorney or agent with at least four years of experience to join our team in Boston, New York, San Francisco, or Washington, DC. Candidates must have experience with healthcare technologies and related ML/AI technologies and hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. We are looking for intellectually curious candidates with strong academic credentials and proven experience drafting and prosecuting U.S. and international patent applications. Strong organizational and writing skills, and a desire to thrive in a large law firm environment, are essential. This client-facing role involves working directly with inventors and scientists, so excellent oral communication skills are required. The position offers meaningful responsibility and autonomy, supported by appropriate training and oversight. USPTO registration is required; attorney applicants must also hold active admission to the state bar of the jurisdiction where they will be located. Familiarity with patent databases and search tools, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, are highly desirable. The good faith base salary range for this position is a minimum of $150,000 to a maximum of $270,000 per year. The actual salary rate offered to candidates within that range will depend on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of relevant experience, education, applicable bar admissions, and the candidate's overall qualifications for the position as assessed by the Firm. In addition to a competitive base salary, we offer a comprehensive bonus program with opportunities for discretionary incentives that may include productivity, business development, and merit-based components, subject to applicable policies.
