This full-time dynamic Athletic Trainer role provides high quality athletic training care to CHCO's youth sports partners throughout the Denver Metro Area. The role includes regular travel to multiple partner sites and clinic locations, requiring flexibility across varied practice and competition environments.
Key responsibilities include providing weekly coverage for youth club partners, serving as the lead athletic trainer for an elite swim club with twice monthly on deck coverage, and supporting the Sports Medicine Clinic and Orthopedic Department for at least one shift per week. The position also includes twice annual tournament coverage in Colorado Springs (August and November).
The primary responsibilities for the Athletic Trainer are to provide superior rehabilitative care to injured athletes and patients, educate the public on injury prevention, rehabilitation, wellness and other health-related issues, and maintain the highest standards of care to student athletes under the direction of the team physician.
The Athletic Trainer I is an entry level position in a Career Advancement Program (CAP). Team members in this position may work in a clinical setting or an outreach setting. In a clinical setting, the Athletic Trainer I performs orthopedic evaluation of patients and communicates findings. In an outreach setting, the Athletic Trainer I provides daily medical coverage for trainings, practices and events. As an entry level position, team members in this position receive direct supervision and guidance from higher level Athletic Trainers, supervisors and/or providers regarding proper documentation in medical notes, medical terminology, use of "dot phrases", relationship building and time management.

Shift Expectations:
* Weekday afternoon and evening coverage for youth club sports practices across multiple partnership sites.
* Weekend game coverage as assigned.
* 1-2 clinic shifts per week within the Orthopedic Department.
* Routine travel between youth sports partnerships and clinic locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Certification(s): Certified as an Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers. Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
- Licensure(s): State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) License for Athletic Trainer.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and/or certifications in manual therapy techniques (IASTM, cupping, etc.).
- Prior experience providing patient care in a sports medicine or outpatient orthopedic clinic setting.
- Demonstrated collaboration with physicians, physical therapists, and other clinical staff to support coordinated patient care.
- Experience using EMR platforms (e.g., Epic, Healthy Roster) for documentation, scheduling, and care coordination.
Salary Information
Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. Annual Salary Range (Based on 40 hours worked per week): $54,790.77 to $82,186.16
