Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Civic Patrol in Orlando, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, remain highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to concerns with calm, professional communication. You will support staff and visitors with a customer-service mindset while documenting activity and reporting issues promptly. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and contractors by following site-specific procedures, client policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government facility.
  • Carry and maintain assigned authorized firearm and related equipment in accordance with state law, licensing requirements, and Allied Universal policies.
  • Control access to restricted areas by verifying credentials, checking identification, and/or confirming authorization for entry.
  • Conduct entry screening as required, including visual inspections and the use of screening equipment, while maintaining a professional and respectful approach.
  • Conduct regular and random armed foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the facility, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including disturbances, alarms, suspicious activity, and requests for assistance.
  • Communicate promptly with site management and/or public emergency services when conditions warrant, and assist with scene control until relieved.
  • Complete detailed, accurate reports of incidents, patrol activity, and security-related observations in accordance with post orders.
  • Monitor cameras, alarms, radios, and other systems when assigned, and take appropriate action based on established procedures.
  • Support public-facing events and high-traffic periods by directing pedestrian and vehicle flow, maintaining orderly lines, and providing clear information to the public.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
