Job Description




As a Security Officer - Data Center Gate in Pasadena, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. You will greet and verify visitors, check credentials, manage badges, monitor entry points, and document security-related activity with clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Staff access control points at a technology location, verifying credentials, issuing temporary badges, and directing authorized personnel to the appropriate areas.
  • Manage visitor processing by confirming appointments, checking identification, completing sign-in and/or sign-out logs, and providing entry instructions consistent with site policies.
  • Monitor and control entry through doors, gates, and/or turnstiles, reporting unauthorized access attempts and policy concerns to the appropriate contacts.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating notifications and support per post orders.
  • Monitor security-related systems such as CCTV, alarms, and access control panels, escalating irregular activity according to site procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and service requests in written reports and/or electronic systems, providing clear information during shift turnovers.
  • Communicate professionally with client staff, vendors, and delivery personnel, helping to support orderly loading, unloading, and routing to designated areas.
  • Support security-related investigations by preserving observations, identifying key details, and assisting with incident documentation as directed by site leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
