Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Art Gallery Patrol in Orlando, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, perform routine rounds, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support staff and visitors with courteous service and clear communication. You will document observations and report concerns, contributing to an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first, works together, and acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to staff, members, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical calls, disruptive behavior, and unauthorized access concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior spaces, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter gates to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or lighting concerns for reporting.
  • Monitor entrances, fellowship areas, and event spaces during services, rehearsals, meetings, and special programs, helping to maintain orderly access and visitor flow.
  • Complete routine access control tasks, including greeting visitors, verifying authorization for restricted areas, and directing guests to appropriate locations.
  • Observe and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and hazards, and document events using required incident reports and daily activity logs.
  • Assist with crowd management during high-attendance gatherings, weddings, funerals, and community outreach events, coordinating with site leadership as needed.
  • Operate site communications equipment such as radios and phones to coordinate with on-site personnel and/or emergency responders.
  • Support opening and closing procedures as assigned, including perimeter checks, securing designated doors, and confirming assigned areas are clear.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and conduct, providing clear directions and de-escalation support when addressing concerns with the public.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Guard Card and/or license is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
