What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including handling disturbances, suspicious activity, and patient or visitor concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and interior areas, helping to manage visitor flow and assist with wayfinding while maintaining a professional presence.
  • Support de-escalation and conflict resolution efforts, using clear communication and requesting additional assistance when needed.
  • Observe and report fire and life response-related concerns such as blocked corridors, malfunctioning doors, or alarm conditions, following site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel.
  • Complete detailed written reports and log entries regarding incidents, patrol findings, and policy exceptions, following Allied Universal documentation standards.
  • Coordinate with nursing units, facilities teams, and local responders during incidents, including escorts and controlled access to restricted areas when directed by site policy.
  • Operate site equipment as assigned, which may include radio communications, access control tools, and/or CCTV monitoring, reporting irregularities to supervision.
  • Follow confidentiality expectations for patient-related information encountered during duties, sharing details only with authorized personnel as required for the role.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of HS Diploma/GED.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
