Job Description




As a Security Officer - Industrial Perimeter Patrol in Peoria, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, conduct routine rounds, and stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents. You will document observations, communicate clearly with site contacts, and support day-to-day operations with a customer-service mindset. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to site personnel and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a manufacturing and industrial setting.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and communicating updates to site contacts and Allied Universal supervision.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter points to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or maintenance concerns for reporting.
  • Control access at designated entrances by verifying identification and/or authorization, issuing visitor credentials when required, and directing visitors to appropriate check-in points.
  • Monitor and operate access control systems, cameras, radios, and related equipment, reporting irregularities and escalating concerns per post orders.
  • Perform routine checks of doors, gates, and key areas, helping to confirm they are secured per location procedures and reporting any signs of tampering or forced entry.
  • Assist with vehicle and trailer processing at receiving and shipping areas by observing for policy compliance and documenting entries and exits as required by site procedures.
  • Complete detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol documentation with accurate, timely information.
  • Support emergency and evacuation procedures as directed, including guiding personnel to assembly areas and coordinating with responding agencies when requested.
  • Maintain a professional presence and provide directions and general assistance to employees, contractors, and visitors while enforcing location rules in a courteous manner.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
